Dental Radiograf sebagai penunjang Dental Diagnostic . Hmmm maksudnya apa ya? Radiografi adalah penggunaan sinar pengionan (sinar X, sinar gamma) untuk membentuk bayangan benda yang dikaji pada film. Radiografi ini pada umumnya digunakan untuk melihat benda tak tembus pandang, misalnya bagian dalam tubuh manusia. Gambaran benda yang diambil dengan radiografi disebut radiograf. Nah karena area yang diambil adalah leher kepala dan digunakan untuk membantu dokter gigi untuk menegakkan diagnosa . maka disebut Radiograf gigi atau dental radiograft. Radiograft gigi dibagi dua macam yaitu intraoral dan ekstraoral.
1. Intraoral adalah ronsen foto yang dilakukan untuk melihat keadaan gigi dan jaringan sekitarnya dengan memasukkan film/reseptor ke dalam mulut pasien . Dalam hal ini yang termasuk intraoral foto yaitu Dental atau Periapikal. Dental atau Periapikal ini adalah foto ronsen menggunakan film yang berukuran kecil. Biasanya menunjukan 2-4 gigi dan dapat memberikan gambaran secara rinci tentang gigi dan jaringan sekitarnya.
2. Ekstraoral adalah ronsen foto dengan sumber sinar-x dan sensor berada diluar mulut pasien. Dalam hal ini yang termasuk ekstraoral foto yaitu Panoramik, CBCT, TMJ, dan Sefalometri.
Panoramik merupakan foto ronsen dari seluruh gigi dan rahang. Gambaran ronsen panoramik ini memberikan informasi antara lain adanya trauma misalnya benturan pada rahang, kondisi gigi secara keseluruhan, posisi gigi bungsu, pertumbuhan gigi, sinus maksilaris, lubang pada gigi, kondisi jaringan pendukung gigi, dan sendi rahang.
CBCT merupakan foto ronsen untuk mengetahui ukuran asli dari gigi atau bagian yang di periksa. Dengan hasil tiga dimensi tersebut akan banyak nya informasi yang kita dapat, dan mempermudah membantu suatu tindakan di kedokteran gigi.
TMJ adalah foto ronsen untuk melihat sendi rahang atas terhadap rahang bawah. Misalnya sendi rahang bergeser dari posisi normal.
Sefalometri adalah teknik ronsen kepala dari samping, untuk melihat pertumbuhan tulang kepala dan wajah. Dan seperti sobat My dental ketahui apabila sobat yang akan dirawat dengan perawatan ortodontie biasanya drg Spesialis orthodontie nya akan meminta pasien dilakukan ronsen foto sefalometri. Dari rongent ini dokter akan menentukan titik titik pertumbuhan kepala sehingga akhirnya dokter akan memberikan rencana perawatan yang lebih cermat
