Hai Sobat Mydental,
Menggunakan gigi tiruan lepasan apabila tidak diimbangi dengan perawatan akan berisiko pada kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
Seperti halnya dengan gigi asli, gigi tiruan juga harus dirawat agar bakteri dan plak tidak menumpuk dan menimbulkan masalah kesehatan mulut, seperti bau mulut, jamuran di rongga mulut ataupun infeksi. Oleh karena itu, pemakai gigi tiruan perlu mengetahui cara merawat gigi tiruan yang benar agar kesehatan mulut tetap terjaga.
Berikut merupakan beberapa tips cara merawat gigi tiruan yang perlu diketahui:
1. Lepas dan bersihkan gigi tiruan setiap sehabis makan
Gigi tiruan yang telah digunakan sebaiknya dibersihkan setiap sehabis makan. hal ini untuk menghindari terjadinya penumpukan plak pada sela-sela gigi tiruan sehingga menjadi sarang kuman.
2. Rendam gigi tiruan setiap malam atau saat tidak digunakan.

4. Sikat gigi tiruan dengan sikat gigi yang lembut ( tanpa pasta apapun )
Pasta gigi bersifat abrasif dapat menyebabkan goresan pada gigi tiruan sehingga gigi tiruan menjadi kasar dan sisa makanan mudah menempel pada gigi tiruan.
5. Rutin membersihkan gigi asli yang tersisa dan rongga mulut.
Gigi asli yang masih tersisa tetap harus dibersihkan dan dirawat. Tidak ada salahnya check up rutin 6 bulan sekali tetap anda lakukan . Sedang untuk gigi tiruannya, bisa dibersihkan di klinik gigi yang menerima pembersihan gigi tiruan . Supaya gigi tiruan anda nampak seperti baru dan terbebas dari stain ataupun kalkulus yang mungkin menempel pada gigi tiruan.
6. Hindari makanan yang keras dan minuman panas. Untuk menjaga bentuk gigi tiruan , hindari minuman panas. Hindari juga makanan yang lengket ataupun keras.
